Welcome Everyone!

Thursday, June 19th, 8 am/NH/USA

Here in the United States we are gearing up for summer and at the library we are signing kids up for our summer reading program! The last day for school is June 24th, later than usual as we had a lot of snow this past winter so kids missed several school days and had to make them up before summer vacation...UGH! We live in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and get plenty of snow in the winter. Its a skier's paradise!

For now, we are enjoying the month of June and its great weather! The Summer Reading Program for NH this year is "G'Day for Reading" and we have lots of fun programs coming up. Also, our teens and tweens meet every Thursday this summer to talk...sometimes its even about the books we read! Right now we are reading "The Seing Eye" by Kevin Crossley-Holland.

The big news with our older kids is that we recently were awarded a grant to do more programming and in that we mentioned we would like to start gaming. We got the grant and have purchased a Wii so that we can get our game on! I am excited about it....I just need to figure out how to hook it up to our projection system! It should be a BLAST! We also got funding (thanks to the NH CHaritable Foundation) to have an author visit, a graphic novel workshop, more books, and we also are also doing a community service project.

I am off to the library now and yes, to figure out that Wii! What are you up to down under? And what is everyone reading? I hope to post a list of our previous reads at some point!
We look forward to learning all about Australia and hope you have fun learning about US!

Take care, Janis/NH
